BOTOX® Cosmetic Techniques: Men Vs. Women
According to the American Academy of Plastic Surgeons, more people received BOTOX® Cosmetic injections in 2012 than ever before. I believe the two main reasons BOTOX® Cosmetic has retained its popularity over the last 10 years are the product’s reliable safety record and consistently effective results. Other injectables, such as dermal fillers, sometimes yield results that are subtle and seem incomplete. Often thought of as the “gold standard” of injectable treatments, BOTOX® Cosmetic is more likely to fully correct the issue at hand.
One aspect of BOTOX® Cosmetic usage that has changed over the past ten years is the number of men that have visited my plastic surgery practice for treatment. Although the areas of the face men and women seek to treat are often the same, I modify the injection technique to account for the common physiological and aesthetic differences between the sexes. Most women wish to elevate the eyebrow to create a distinguished arch while simultaneously eliminating any horizontal wrinkles on the forehead. Alternatively, men typically desire a straighter eyebrow for a more masculine look. In addition, men often have larger facial muscles than women, and in order to obtain successful results, a larger dose of BOTOX® Cosmetic is needed. Mastering these subtle differences in technique are vital for delivering results that meet the expectations of the patient.Previous Post Next Post
